Energy Management System (EMS)
It manages the production, consumption and storage of energy at the user's location.
It can be installed at the user's location or in the cloud (cloud- based ).
EMS is essential in systems that include a battery storage system ( BESS ) because it enables optimal exploitation of the battery storage system using advanced forecasting (AI) and mathematical optimization functions to achieve the user's set operational and economic goals.

EMS supports two basic modes of operation:
according to production/consumption plan
The system follows a predefined schedule of energy exchange with the grid or market. The management of flexible resources ensures the realization of the planned energy profile with compensation for deviations. Integration with electricity markets (day-ahead and intraday) and external systems (VPP, aggregators) is enabled via the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol.
to minimize energy costs
The system optimizes electricity costs by reducing peak power and managing consumption. Using forecasts and tariff models, it manages batteries and other resources to limit peak loads and reduce network and energy costs.

Key functionalities
Battery management ( B ESS): charge/discharge optimization, protection of SOC limits, peak shaving
Production management: integration of PV and other sources, monitoring and optional production limitation
Consumption management: monitoring and management of total and partial consumption
Connected power management: continuous monitoring and management of energy exchange.

AI and predictive analytics
The system uses advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to:
consumption and production forecast
peak load prediction
optimization of battery use and energy flows

Surveillance and security
The system includes monitoring and alarm functions:
detection of boundary violations
device status monitoring
security and operational configuration
parameters via the administrator interface

Visualization and user interface
The web - based interface allows:
overview of the current status (power, energy, SOC)
historical data analysis and forecasts
display of energy flows and operating mode

Integration and communication
EMS supports standard industry protocols:
Modbus TCP
IEC 61850
IEC 60870-5-104
Siemens S7
REST API (market platforms e.g. CROPEX)
